Keila Church is the largest medieval country church in Harju County. There is no information about the early days of the church, but around 1280 a spacious quadrangular chapel was completed on "Keila Mäe", which forms the choir room of the current church. The nave was initially not built and was probably completed in the first half of the 14th century.
